What is the Annexstad Family Foundation?
The Foundation was established by Al and Cathy Annexstad and their family to provide financial support for higher education to deserving students who have matured through the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.

What does the scholarship provide?
The amount of the scholarship will be based upon the individual financial circumstances of the student and the availability of resources from the Annexstad Family Foundation Scholarship. By combining student aid resources available from the Annexstad Family Foundation, federal, state, and University sources, the program’s goal is to assure funds for tuition, fees, room, board, and books are provided. Assuming the continued good
standing and annual demonstrated financial need of the student, the scholarship will be renewed annually throughout the standard period required to obtain a bachelor’s degree at the University.

Who is eligible?
A successful candidate will be a student who has shown outstanding performance in high
school, with special emphasis placed on academic achievement, character, and qualities of leadership, while demonstrating significant financial need. The student must have matured as a “Little” through the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and be accepted for admission to the University. Preference will be given to Minnesota and California students.

How will the selection be made?
The University will select the recipients from the list of candidates provided by representatives of Minnesota’s and California’s Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies. The successful candidates will have applied to and been accepted by the University and will also fulfill the conditions of the scholarship.

How does one apply?
Interested students are encouraged to apply during their senior year of high school.
Applications are available on our web site, www.lmu.edu/financialaid, with your high
school counselor, or through your local Big Brothers Big Sisters Chapter. Students must
complete an LMU Admission Application, by January 15th for fall enrollment, and a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), available at www.lmu.edu/financialaid, for scholarship consideration. Additional documents such as a CSS (College Scholarship Service) Profile, parent and/or student tax returns may also be requested. All scholarship applications must be received by March 2nd. For more information regarding the LMU Admission Application, important admission and financial aid deadlines and other useful resources, please refer to the LMU web site at www.lmu.edu.

When will the recipient be named?
Applications for admission are reviewed on a rolling basis and are evaluated once all your required documents have been received. Upon successful admission to LMU and
completion of our financial aid application requirements, your file will be evaluated for
eligibility. Scholarship award notifications will be sent prior to April 1st.
