About Us
In 2000, Al and Cathy Annexstad, along with their children Tom and Patti, created the Annexstad Family Foundation Scholarship program for deserving Little Brothers and Little Sisters who have bright minds, big dreams—and little means to make their dreams of a college education a reality.
As co-founders of the Annexstad Family Foundation, Al and Cathy personally understand the positive impact mentoring can have on the life of a young person. Following the loss of their parents early in life, both Al and Cathy benefited immensely from the intervention of caring adult mentors. Years later, they decided to give something back.
The Annexstad Family Foundation chose to partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) because it is the largest, most effective youth mentoring organization in the United States. The mission of BBBS is to help children reach their potential through professionally supported, one-to-one relationships with mentors.
